Tala is Associate Professor in the School of Architecture, Art & Design in the American University in Dubai since 2008 who is also collaborating with The Professional Design Institute in the role of an academic advisor.
Tala is a Doctor of Philosophy in Architectural Engineering, a qualification which she received from Vienna University of Technology in 2011. She also has a Master’s degree in Architecture from the same University.
Prior to the dawn of her teaching career, Tala has worked as a Design Team Architect in both Tehran and Vienna from 2005 to 2008.
During her employment in AUD, Tala also served as the Head of the Organising Committee for the Annual symposia in the School of Architecture, Art & Design. Some of the significant topics covered in the symposia include the following:

- Landmarks
Tala has delivered lectures for the following, but not limited to the following subjects in Architecture and Interior Design:
- Interior Design Studio
- Hospitality Design

- Introduction to Detailing
- Professional Business Development.
Tala has served as a Member of the International Advisory Board at the ICERI 2010 conference in Madrid where she has delivered her work called “Design Thinking: Methods of Creative Thinking Process”.
In the same year of 2010, Tala has also delivered her work for “Reinventing Teaching Methods to Foster Creative and Innovative Minds” for the International Technology, Education and Development Conference in Madrid.
In 2013, she was invited as external Juror to The Berlage/Delft - Center for Advanced Studies in Architecture and Urban Design for 2012-2013 Studio ‘Housing Contemporary Forms of Life’.
The next year of 2014, Tala has been involved as a contributor for the Urbanism Seminar at the Universidad Europa de Madrid where her work has been published in Perspective Urbanas in Spring of the same year.
In May of 2014, Tala has been invited by the Board of Doctorates at the TU Delft as the Committee member for the Doctorate Examination, “Camp Faith”.
In May 2015, Tala has received her own award for Innovation in Teaching from Provost’s Award.
Tala is also affiliated with the American Institute of Architects since 2012.
