Besides performing the roles of an Academic Consultant and Educator for The Professional Design Institute, Bekir is currently a Professor for Syracuse University in New York.
He also worked as an Assistant Professor in Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana, USA from 2006 to 2009, where he also served as the Program Chair and Curriculum Development Coordinator. After his service in Ivy Tech Community College, he then worked as an Assistant Professor in Purdue University in Indiana and Kean University in New Jersey from 2009 to 2016.
Bekir has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Design Development, a qualification which he received in 2006 from the Ohio State University. During his stay in OSU, he also served as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant from 2003 to 2006. Bekir also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Architecture from Anadolu University in Turkey.

- Portfolio Preparations
Apart from teaching and educating students, Bekir has also spent time as a freelance designer for furniture, Interiors and Digital Media. His most Significant work is his entry for L.A.M.P., i.e. Lighting Archi-tecture Movement Project, where. Bekir became a finalist in highly prestigious, international design competition and competed against 132 designers from 27 countries.
Bekir is also the Owner and President of idTECHture Design, LLC., which operates for Architectural and Interior Design businesses from 2013 until present. The company also involves Product Development for Columbus Authentic Tile which specializes highly customizable, eco-friendly, and authentic floor and wall tiles.
